this is my lifestory.
Have any of you ever taken a day off, just to think about your life and how you've been living it throughout all the years?
Some might complain, yes, you've had it hard. Being in the same class consecutively with this irritating person in class, this bully, this irresponsible teammate. Not easy. No, definitely not.
Let's take a look at an analogy. If you wanted a snack, would any of you want to eat cooking oil? No? Hmm, how about some raw eggs? (okay, excuse those bodybuilding fanatics.) Gross, right? Flour? Or baking soda? They're all disgusting on it's own, and tough to stomach. However, put them altogether, with the right amount of heat, you get a nice cake, or cookies. Or some nice smelling and tasting pastry.
So it is the same with us and our lives. You've been through hard times, you've had your fair share of sorrow, of trouble. Yet, when you finally are able to see the whole picture, of why God allowed you to go through whatever you went through, (not forgetting the heat part, which I will come back to later.) you'll come to realize that it will all work out to be something good, something beautiful.
When you put a cake mixture into the oven, the temperature has to be of the right amount, right? Or else the result you're gonna get from it is that the cake's all black and burnt, and perfectly inedible.
So it is with us. God knows exactly how much we can take, in the "heat" before we would become, well, chow tah, if you will. Am I making this up? No.
1 Corinthians 10:13. A familiar passage to all.
"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."
He'll definitely put you through trials, but He will not turn the heat up too much.
Why would God put me through trials? All my bad experiences are good enough once I put them together.
Yeah? Really? Do you really think so? What would the mixture of raw eggs, cooking oil, flour and baking powder be like together? Thick gooey, stuff. Even a tad smelly. Still think it's good enough without your being tested under the flames of adversity?
Of course, we're unable to pull through on our own, but as Christians, we are never alone.
Zechariah 4:6.
"'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.
