So, the exams are over, and you're out to chalets, BBQs and stayovers at friends'. It could be pouring outside or it could be that you guys have nothing else on the to-do list. Then some bright spark would always suggest the game of spin-the-bottle, or subtly named truth or dare. Sounds fun? Then ask yourself this: "What's the purpose of divulging secrets which others need not know, do a dare like kiss another opposite gender or worst yet, to tell a lie so as to skip an embarrassing situation or dare? What would you get out of this? Fun? What would Jesus do?"

An idle mind's a devil's workshop. Are you egging the evil one to work overtime?

"The lips of the righteous what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse." -Proverbs 10:32.

And so you might say, "Hey! Why're you making the whole thing sound so serious? It's just a game! Chill man!"

"A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct, but a man of understanding delights in wisdom." -Proverbs 10:23.

So is what you're doing wise? Or foolish? Simply put, would it derive pleasure from God? If not, refrain from doing so!

"Folly delights a man who lacks judgement, but a man of understanding keeps a straight course." -Proverbs 15:21.

Instead of meaningless dares and challenges where you are placing yourself in situations where it's difficult to make a right choice to honour and glorify God, why not make a decision each day to challenge your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to live a life that's Christ-like? I double dare you!
